Rally de Corse 2018

Škoda Motorsport ordered an unconventional large tent that served as service facility for their race cars. This had been the fourth season that we travelled around the WRC2 race series. The first race in the series took place from April 6th to 8th on the French island of Corsica. This year, the service park was near Bastia Airport. We arrive at the locations and six hours later everything is ready for the arrival of a truck with racing cars. During the race, our tent was heavily tested by true April weather – strong wind followed by heavy rain.  Just before the race, sunny spells started to emerge and the racers kicked off the rally in beautiful weather. 

Jan Kopecký started as part of an elite group and finished as the winner in his category. Škoda’s new racer Ole Christian Veiby from Norway experienced clutch problems during the final Saturday training lap but still managed to get a beautiful third position the next day.  Two racers on the podium - that’s every racing team’s dream!
